Coconut oil
The predominant component of organic coconut oil, lauric acid, helps increase high-density lipoprotein in the blood («good» cholesterol). It is deemed to have a more beneficial effect on total cholesterol than any other acid, either saturated or unsaturated.
Three facts about organic coconut oil:
- Infuses the body with energy. Coconut oil contains medium chain fatty acids. These are metabolized differently than the more common long-chain acids found in most foods. Thanks to them the cold-pressed coconut oil entering the body is sent directly from the digestive tract to the liver and becomes a rapid source of energy.
- Destroys harmful microorganisms. When the lauric acid is broken down in the stomach, monolaurin, a beneficial component, is formed. Lauric and monolauric acids kill pathogens which cause nasty fungal infections.
- Reduces hunger. This effect is related to how fatty acids are absorbed by the human body. The organic substances (ketones) formed during this process suppress appetite, thereby reducing the amount of food consumed.

Chemical composition of a product is characterized by calories, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, dietary fibres and vitamins. For organic products, these parameters significantly depend on natural factors – air temperature and precipitation during vegetational season, dry or rainy season, geographic latitude and longitude of cultivation, botanical grain varieties, and soil type. It is impossible to foresee all the factors, so these values are average and indicative only.
